CLAUDIO ABATE BIOGRAPHY

As as a
teenager he showed interest in the world of art and photography. The son
of a painter who was friends with De Chirico, in 1955 he started his
career as a photographer with Michelangelo Como in Via Margutta. From
1961 to 1963 he worked for Life Magazine as assistant to Eric Lessing,
one of the founders of the Magnum photo agency.
He actively took part in
the sixties scene and his photographs, as well as providing precious
testimony, are often the only proof of events of which otherwise we
would not have any record. Complex works of environmental art – hard to
trace to a single point of view – are portrayed in a single, never
celebrative image, in the attempt to capture the relationship between
the work, the surroundings and the spectator. After the so-called ‘hot
years’ when he became the photographer/reader of avant-garde
contemporary art, he experimented with his own language. This led to his
"Contatti con la superficie sensibile", comprising black and white
works created through direct contact with light-sensitised photographic
paper, presented at the Incontri internazionali d’Arte at Palazzo
Taverna in Rome in 1972. In the 1980s he approached colour for the first
time, and while retaining his intimate dialogue with the work and the
artists, he abandoned loyal descriptions of reality to highlight its
mystery.
Abate's photos have been displayed in many national and
international shows.

Artist
Art Brokerage: Finnish sculptor and
artist, Wäinö Valdemar Aaltonen (1894 – 1966) was born to a tailor in
the village of Karinainen, Finland. He became interested in art after
being deaf as a child, and attended the School of Drawing of the Turku
Art Association from age 16. He had spent many of the early years at
this school studying painting, but he was self-taught as a sculptor. A
journey he made to Italy in 1923 opened his eyes to cubist and futurist
art. These elements can primarily be seen in his paintings.
As the
Republic of Finland arose, and the First World War raged, he sculpted
War Memorials. He soon became a nationalist icon, the exemplar Finn,
establishing an exhibition in Stockholm in 1927. His sculpture is
nationalist in nature, and he is noted for monumental figures and busts
portraying citizens of Finland. An example is the 1925 sculpture of
Paavo Nurmi, a cast of which is exhibited outside the Helsinki stadium.
Another notable work is that of Jean Sibelius, a bust of 1928.
These two
works, like the main body of his work, are bronze casts—though he did
work in stone and even glass. He was one of the early 20th-century
pioneers of direct carving. A large collection of his works are on
permanent exhibition at the Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art in Turku.

BIOGRAPHY
Artist
Art Brokerage: Persian artist,
A1one, was born in Tehran. He is a visual artist who created graffiti
and street art in Iran, particularly on the walls of Tehran. He was the
first person who started painting on walls of Tehran so his nickname
ended to be "Alone" which then mutated into A1one. He started his street
art project in 2003 and inspired his close friends at that time to also
begin painting on the streets. Artists such as Elle, isba, K.T. and
Magoi were the first people to join him in Tehran. He is one of the
pioneers of the urban art scene in Middle East.
With his public space
art, he describes his view on the Iranian society and puts himself
regularly in danger. When he began, it was a time when nobody even knew
what graffiti was in his country. He has also been known and called as
Iranian Banksy just because of his importance in the rise of street art
and stenciling within Iran, for art lovers and ordinary people.
"When I
decided to do my painting on walls I bought some spray cans - at that
time we had just some very low quality colors in Iran. My first work was
a very simple work titled “searching for friends” painted on a wall
right next to the Tehran-Karaj expressway late at night. It was a really
frightening night for me… The next morning I got three calls from
friends who recognized my style of painting. They were shocked to see my
work on a public wall. My first stencil was a Munch's Scream Print on
Art University walls and after that, I experimented with many techniques
and methods, but I continue with stencils, graffiti and sticker art.
A1one's art world is dynamic and made of many different styles. from
portraits to calligraphy and funky characters which he mostly uses for
his stickers.
A1ones artworks combine both, Persian calligraphy and
Western graffiti. His art has been documented by many photographers and
featured in Art Asia Pacific Magazine. The artist has also been working
on Arabic Graffiti Style Design from 2003 and developed graffiti style
in Islamic graffiti world. He has made a handful of the greatest Style
walls with Arabic letter graffiti since 2004.
